If you’re interested in the way your dentist, Dr. Grant R Young, creates complete and partial dentures, you have come to the right blog! We are happy to explain the creation process so you can know a little more.
For complete dentures, your dentist will extract any remaining teeth that are in the way. This is usually all of the teeth. Then, your dentist will take measurements of your mouth, smile, and jaw and will send that information to dental lab technicians who will create your bridge. In the meantime, you will be given temporary teeth so you can chew and talk while you wait. When the denture is sent to our office, you will come back in and make sure it provides top-notch results.
For partial dentures, your dentist will skip the tooth extraction step because it’s likely unnecessary. First, he will take measurements of your mouth and will send those measurements to the same lab technicians. Instead of creating a denture for the whole arch of teeth, they will create a denture that has one or more false teeth and one that clasps to the remaining natural teeth. Once it’s sent back to our office, your dentist will make sure it fits perfectly in the mouth.
